Just a quick note to say that life is good and I'm not wishing for my "old" life any more!

Happy Memorial Day!

A is for Airplane

Today was one of those days that I was wishing for my old life. The boys were going crazy and I was fantasizing about my old quiet office. Today I yelled too much, but we still managed to have fun.

We went to a park in Costa Mesa with a huge cement airplane, then headed out to McDonalds and our favorite spot to watch real airplanes land at John Wayne. We topped off the afternoon at the pool.

I had to dig deep today, but we managed to have more fun time than time-outs.

Surprise LegoLand Trip

Eric's been traveling a lot for the last six months and yesterday he finally took a day off (after working a few hours in the morning). We decided to go big and head down to Carlsbad to Lego Land. We didn't tell the boys and Andrew was getting very frustrated that he didn't know - but once we got there all was forgiven.

It was a little tricky with three kids as many of the rides require an adult for kids under a certain age or height. But Eric and I tag-teamed and it all worked out. Ages three and five are great for LegoLand. Poor Sarah was stuck in her stroller for most of it, but as always, she was a good sport.

It was a great Thursday afternoon.

If you saw my Facebook update, it looks like I got about a 10% return on my picture taking! Must work on quality, not quantity.

Glimpse into the future

Yesterday morning Andrew was doing some work in his "office". I couldn't have posed this picture if I tried!

He is one funny and unique little boy.

Mom, I'm busy working.

Tuesday Morning

Everyone was "up and at 'em" this morning and we headed to the park a little after 8am. I always think "what could be better or more fun for the kids than playing at the park"? That's why when Andrew was crying over his applesauce snack because there wasn't enough for him to have two, even though he wasn't even half way done with his first, I had a hard time keeping it together. We're at the park AND mommy didn't forget the snacks, it supposed to be a great morning right? They sure keep ya humble.

swing!

Can I go now?

Sunday Dad-venture

We haven't been on a dad-venture in a while. These are loosely planned trips with the kids where I promise not to say "are you serious, crazy, and/or insane!?!", do you really want to take the ALL THREE KIDS to XYZ?!", and go along for the ride. I have to say that they've always been fun, no matter how high my anxiety is at the outset. And I have to tell you on this one, mine was sky high. We took the Metro from Long Beach to downtown LA. Through the "best" parts of LA too. We started in Long Beach, and I was fine until we walked up to the train station platform and I realized we'd be waiting for the train on a 5 foot high platform above the tracks with no barrier between my crazy three year old and sometimes unpredictable 5 year old and the tracks. Eric and I had to herd the boys all the while making sure Sarah's stroller wasn't rolling away. I almost had a panic attack right then and there.

I calmed down a bit when we were actually on the train and began to relax when we made it to Union station and walked outside and saw a big Cinco de Mayo street party. Then I tensed right back up again when I realized how easy it would be to lose Owen, which we did for a few minutes. The street party was a total surprise, just a bonus that Eric always seems to pull out of no-where on these adventures.

We spent the afternoon walking down Olvera Street, eating really yummy (and greasy!) El Salvadorian food and riding the train. The kids had a great time and I had a nice big glass of wine when we got home.

My moment in time May 2

My moment in time May 2, originally uploaded by leslie_capron.

Here's my moment in time picture. After discovering that my big camera battery was dead, I ran outside with my iPhone and snapped this shot. I love the bright sun in the morning outside the front door. My other option was running upstairs and taking a picture of the entire family in the shower - I think I made the right choice.

One thing I'll do tomorrow

A moment in time project

I wonder what I'll take a picture of?

Photo walk

Sarah and I went on another long walk yesterday around our neighborhood. I had fun taking pictures on my iPhone and playing with the Hipstamatic app again. I am crazy about the insta-nostalgia the app gives the pictures.

P.S. the Pictobrowser cut off the top of the photos just a wee bit.
