Sarah has one more week until she's back at school too. Her schedule has been non-existent this summer as we shuttle back and forth between the boys' activities. All the in and out of the car and interrupted naps have taken its toll. I think we're both looking forward for Sarah to get her own groove going again.

Second Grade!

Second grade!  I just can't believe it.  After a rough first grade year with lots of stress, we're hoping second grade is an easier experience for Andrew.  The first week of school started out so well.  His teacher introduced herself to each child with a smile and a handshake.  Andrew was smiling after that.  When I picked him up the first day he was happy and excited.  If Andrew's happy, I'm happy.  The next two days he came home with 5 STAR cards (cards the student get when they show great behavior) - he's never had that many in one day ever! We're looking forward to a great year. 

First Day of Kindergarden!

Our sweet, sweet baby Owen started Kindergarden this week (I don't think I'll ever stop calling him that).  He was a little apprehensive when Sarah and I dropped him off, and needed some extra hugs and help from his teacher to say goodbye.  But when I picked him up he was all smiles.  I think this will be a great year for Owen.  We love his teacher Ms. Larson, and being in the afternoon class gives him lots of mama-time in the morning.   


This is the best he could manage for a smile before class!



He got lots of support from little sister.  She even wore his favorite shirt : ).

Yesterday we all slept in a little late and realized we weren't going to make it to church so we headed out to soaked up some sun at the beach.  We call it "nature church".  


We drove by the new house construction site (something I do every couple of days!), on our way down to Laguna Beach.   


The weather was great, not too hot.  We've had a weirdly mild summer for the most part, with a few really humid days.  


The kids had a blast as usual.  I never get tired of watching them enjoy the waves.
