Owen Doctor's Appointment

I took Owen the the doctor's yesterday because his eyes were looking a little extra goopy. He has an eye infection and needs a few days of antibiotic eye drops. Other than that though he is doing great. He's still a bit yellow from jaundice, but his pediatrician wasn't worried about it. He now weighs 9lbs 1oz. Boy am I SO glad he came early!! I don't think I could have gotten him out if he was full term!!

Boy what a week!

This week has just flown by! We've been home since Wednesday, and are getting used to being a new family of four. I think it is going to take Andrew a little while to really warm up to Owen. He really doesn't pay too much attention to him yet, but I know that will change once Owen is a little older and more fun for a toddler to interact with.

Owen is doing well and has no lasting injuries from his birth. His face was bruised and swollen Monday and Tuesday, but now he looks just fine. He is eating well and has gained 4 oz since Monday. So far he is a pretty mellow baby, he sleeps alot and really only makes a fuss if he gets cold or is hungry. Like Andrew, Owen loves to be swaddled.

Today is the first day that I've felt close to normal. The first few days were really rough and I owe a lot to Vicodin for getting me through. My mom's been here too this week and she's been a big help with getting all of the things we didn't have in the house ready for Owen's early arrival.
Owen's sleeping now, so I'll sign off and try to get some sleep too.

Oh Baby!

Owen Alexander Capron arrived at 1:44pm today. He weighed in at 8lbs and 6oz and is 22" long. Thank goodness he came a few weeks early!

Both Mom and baby are doing well - despite the flurry of activity when the doctor discovered his shoulder was stuck in Mom's pelvis and that he wouldn't make out the rest of the way. Thanks to a swift emergency response, the doctor and team managed to contort Leslie's body so that things freed up. After what seemed to be an eternity, they got little Owen breathing and, other than some facial bruising, he seems no worse for the wear.

We'll post a few more pictures in the morning but as you might have guessed, it's been a long day. Thanks for all the support and prayers from everyone.

Capron Trifecta

After an exciting few days for our family, we're beginning the third phase of an eventful March.   Leslie's water broke early this morning and she's currently at about 5cm.  Everything is looking great and Leslie is feeling fine.  We'll keep you updated as things progress thougout the day.
